Rafael Soriano delivered 3 solid innings at Leones Field as the dominant
Caracas Leones beat the Burbank Tigers 4 to 3.
Caracas came up with all the runs they needed in the 4th inning when they
scored 4 runs on 3 hits. The key offensive moment was provided by Jason
Smith who came through for the home fans when he lofted a three-run 'big-fly'
(his 5th of the season). The Burbank offense proved no trouble in the 9th.
The winning pitcher was Johan Santana(20-9) who allowed 3 runs in 6 innings.
Soriano earned his 5th save. Andy Pettitte(6-17) was charged with the loss.
